Why Americans Are Fat And Getting Fatter

Although ti's not just Americans anymore! But we do consume drugs, antibiotics, growth hormones, refined sugars, trans fats, preservatives, herbicides, pesticides, and literally thousands of chemicals very single day.

Where are we getting all this stuff from?

Our diet. Yes, the food we eat and most everything we drink, thanks to our modern food preserving and processing techniques. All this has caused symptoms and disorders such as:

  • clogged liver
  • clogged colin
  • candida yeast overgrowth
  • enzyme deficiency
  • allergies
  • diabetes
  • cardiovascular problems
  • irregular bowel syndrome
  • acid reflux
  • obesity
  • cancer
  • inefficient pancreas
  • underactive thyroid
  • plus many others

Many of the above disorders cause weight gain, especially an underachieve thyroid condition called hypothyroidism, which is when your thyroid gland is unable to produce the hormone thyroxine, which is responsible to control your body's metabolic rate.

The thyroid is controlled by the hypothalamus gland.

The hypothalamus gland is in the mid section of the brain, command central, as it controls almost every organ in the body. It also controls the nervous system, muscles, gut, energy reserves, the immune system. body temperature, weight and appetite.

How does the hypothalamus get abnormal?

Besides genetics, there are many more reasons why your hypothalamus gland gets dysfunctional; clogged live and/or colon, growth hormones, antibiotics, trans fats artificial sweeteners, drugs, chemicals, food additives and many more.

All the substances mentioned above get into your system through the food you eat, the air you breath and water you drink, even lotions that you rub on your skin. In our society it's extremely difficult to escape all of these harmful and extremely unhealthy substances.

The cure can happen one step at a time.

It can be daunting to think about eliminating everything we've been used to eating and drinking all our lives to get better health and lose weight. Eliminating a lot of the harmful substances mention earlier can be done simply by eliminating the high processed foods from your diet.

Eliminating high processed foods

These are virtually anything and everything that has been bottled, canned, or packaged. To get into that package, bottle or can, it had to have been processed, and it's in these process techniques that the foods are chemically altered and changed so they can last longer on store shelves. This process is what our entire food industry is based on.

It's these food additives that are causing sickness and disease in our society. Sixty years ago, before the industry used processing food techniques, there weren't any obese people and seeing fat people was pretty rare. We didn't have many of the symptoms, disorders, and diseases we have now.

You would think that with today's technologies even in the weight loss market with all the fat burning supplements, organic weight loss pills, and all sorts of natural fat burners for men and women that we as a society could have more success at fighting off that extra fat, even if our dietary habits are not the best they could be.

What are our options for weight loss supplements?
Going directly to a supplement or diet drug for help getting back into shape may not be the best solution. Eating right should be our primary concern. even doctors will tell you that "90% of disease can be prevented with diet". We cannot underestimate what a healthy diet can do. The problem for so many of us though is we just don't have the time and energy to follow that path to the fullest way that can benefit our health.

And so we turn to the drugs. But are dietary drugs the best option to burn off a bunch of extra fat? According to any website that sells or talks about weight loss drug pills, you will find a long list of potentially dangerous side effects. The ironic thing about this is they also warn against using the drug for extended periods of time as it may also make you become dependent on it. How can one keep on losing the weight though if one can't continue to rake the diet drug?

Alternative to drugs?
These days there are many of them, from green coffee bean extract, raspberry ketone, and acai berry to name a few of the newest things to have surfaced. There are even huge online health stores that carry only all-natural weight loss supplements. The one that seems to stand out that we've noticed is Evolution Slimming. Based in the UK but delivering worldwide. For years now we've seen all-natural supplements to help with weight loss such as Meratol, Capsiplex, Proactol, Phen375, and many others.

It's a good thing that the boomer kids are at or getting to retirement age because so many people of that age group are thinking smarter about getting healthier by eating more natural foods and when considering supplementation will look at natural ones. This can be a good idea because an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!

What Health Benefits Can We Expect From Omega 3?

There are many great sources of foods when it comes to providing substantial amounts of the important nutrient, omega 3. Walnuts, flaxseeds, beans, fish, olive oil, and winter squash constitute part of the cornucopia of foods that will provide you with concentrated sources of omega 3 fats.
How much omega 3 should we consume?
A person consuming 2000 calories per day would have to eat at least 2g of omega 3 fats. Many nutrition experts believe that this recommendation is not high enough, and would suggest, instead, that people consume at least 4% of their total calories – approximately 4g – as omega 3 fats.

What has omega 3 have from flaxseeds and walnuts?
At the top of our list for omega 3 foods would be flaxseeds and walnuts. One-quarter cup of flaxseeds contains about 7g of omega 3 fatty acids while one-quarter cup of walnuts contains about 2.3g. In either case, the amount is pretty substantial. Therefore by combining one-quarter cup of walnuts with a tablespoon of flaxseeds you will add close to the recommended 4g of omega 3 fats to your diet.

Krill oil - 3X better than fish oil
*Important Fact - Krill oil has been proven to be 3 times more potent than regular fish oil.

What has omega 3 have from beans?
One cup's worth of soybeans, navy beans, or kidney beans provides between 200mg and 1,000mg of omega 3, or about 0.2 to 1g. A four-ounce serving of tofu will provide about 0.4g of omega 3.

Other main sources are fish, winter squash, and olive oil
In the case of fish, you'll get about 2g from every 4 ounce serving of Chinook salmon; 0.6g from the same serving of halibut; and 0.4g from tuna. A cup of this winter squash will provide you approximately 0.3g. For extra virgin olive oil, the amount of omega 3 per ounce is about 0.2g.

Eating fish and seafood such as salmon, halibut, tuna and scallops a few times a week is an easy way to increase your omega 3 intakes. If not, you can take omega 3 supplements every day. One or two 500mg supplements a day will be more than enough.

Filling up on omega 3 fatty acids does a body good. These polyunsaturated fats, which play a crucial role in how your body's cells function, have been shown to reduce harmful inflammation that could lead to heart disease, decrease triglyceride levels and blood pressure, and prevent fatal heart arrhythmias. Your body can't produce omega 3 though, so you've got to be diligent about making sure your diet or supplement provides them.

Are you getting enough collagen?  The fact is as we age our body will produce less and less of it. A lack of collagen can start to show those aging sign on our skin. Wrinkles and a bit of a sag too.

Is Krill Oil the Best Omega 3 Supplement?

Benefits of Omega 3
Omega 3’s has a number of health benefits. Omega 3 EPA and DHA can help lower triglycerides and blood pressure. It can also help with other conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis, depression, and many more. They play an important role in reducing inflammation throughout the body, in the blood vessels, the joints, and elsewhere.
Which Source Makes For the Best Omega 3 Supplement?
Omega 3 is considered essential fatty acids. We need them for our bodies to work normally. Because the essential fatty acids of ALA (Alpha Linolenic acid), DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid), and EPA (Eicosapentaenoic acid) are not made in the body or cannot be converted, we need to get them from the food that we eat. But which foods? Which supplements?

Krill Oil - Proven to be 3 times more potent than regular omega 3 from fish
Krill oil, more specifically, krill sourced from the Antarctic has been shown to have higher levels of the antioxidant astaxanthin. Astaxanthin can slow down the early aging process naturally, gives us  healthier looking skin, and is a natural energy booster as well.

There are several types of omega 3 fatty acids. EPA and DHA are primarily found in certain fish. Plants like flax contain ALA, an omega 3 fatty acid that is partially converted into DHA and EPA in the body. Algae oil often provides only DHA. So, which omega 3 is best? Most experts say that DHA and EPA from fish and fish oil have better established health benefits than ALA. DHA and EPA are found together only in fatty fish and algae. DHA can also be found on its own in algae, while flaxseed and plant sources of omega 3’s provide ALA as a source of energy.

Dietary Sources
Fish, plant, and nut oils are the primary dietary source of omega 3. EPA and DHA are found in cold water fish such as salmon, mackerel, halibut, sardines, tuna, and herring. ALA is found in flaxseeds, flaxseed oil, canola oil, soybeans, soybean oil, pumpkin seeds, pumpkin seed oil, walnuts, and walnut oil. The best health effects of omega 3 fatty acids come mostly from EPA and DHA. ALA from flax and other vegetarian sources needs to be converted in the body to EPA and DHA.

However, many people do not make these conversions very effectively, whether fish and sea vegetable sources of EPA and DHA and vegetarian sources of ALA. Other sources of omega 3 fatty acids include sea life such as krill and algae.

Which Omega 3 is Best in Supplement Form?
Both EPA and DHA can be taken in the form of fish oil capsules. Flaxseed, flaxseed oil, fish, and krill oils should be kept refrigerated. Whole flaxseeds must be ground within 24 hours of use, so the ingredients stay active. Flaxseeds are also available in ground form in a special package so the components in the flaxseeds stay active.

Krill Oil Good For Hair and Skin?
Yes, omega 3 fatty acids are essential for our hair, skin, and nails to be at their best. Krill are a crustacean and so there are people with shellfish allergies that can't consume them. The State Of Your Digestive Health and Losing Weight

The state your digestive health is in has a direct effect on your ability of losing weight. It's true that genetics are partly responsible because some people are born with a naturally high metabolic rate and others have a naturally low rate. This is a key point because a slow metabolic rate does not burn calories quickly like a high rate does and this makes it much harder to lose weight.

But that's genetics. You can influence and change your metabolic rate with a few simple lifestyle changes.

Key reasons for an unhealthy digestive system.

As mentioned, the state of your digestive health is the key here. So let's list some of the main reasons you are unhealthy and over weight:

1. Clogged liver - if you are fat, chances are high that your liver is clogged. Reasons are because of too many medications or drugs, too much highly refined foods which include sugars, hydrogenated oils and trans fats. A clogged liver reduces metabolic rate and will store a lot of fat.

2. Clogged colon - this results in very slow digestion and therefor slow metabolism. Reasons are a lack of nutrients the colon needs to function properly and when there are a lack of nutrients it's all about the diet. Low-fiber diets particularly. Also not enough digestive enzymes, and water. More physical activity is needed as well. As much as 30 pounds of undigested fecal matter has been found in people's colon during an autopsy. After cleaning your colon you can lose an instant 5 to 30 pounds!

3. Candida yeast and parasites - both of these can clog the 2 organs mentioned above and if you are overweight you probably have both candida yeast and parasites. Candida yeast develops when there is an incorrect balance of your good and bad intestinal bacteria. Bad bacteria procreates when there are nutritional deficiencies in your diet. If you have the conditions mentioned above, there's an almost 100% chance you have parasites.

As you can see, there is a definite pattern in how our digestive health can slowly deteriorate over the years of depending too much on medications and a high processed food diet. This is good for the food and pharmaceutical companies, but it's slowly killing us!

We eat crap year after year only to develop digestive disorders, try and correct them with drug medications, which are only a temporary fix, but add to the toxics in our body and on it goes.

Stop the madness!

Another reason people have a hard time losing weight is getting on and off diet after diet. Some call this yo-yo dieting. Simply start eliminating the culprit foods and medications that contain the 3 unhealthy and dangerous man-made substances:

    1.    refined sugars
    2.    trans fats
    3.    prescription and non-prescription drugs

You need to start reading the labels on all packaged foods because sometimes even the natural and healthy looking ones contain some type of sugar and hydrogenated oils. Remember, man-made sugars come in many names; corn syrup, dextrose, malt dextrose, aspartame, and sucrolos just to name a few.

Start adding the good stuff

As you eliminate the junk food, start adding some food with quality nutrients. You already know what some are: fresh fruits, raw or steamed vegetables and unrefined grains. For example; bread is made from grains but if you eat white bread, then all the quality dietary fiber you need has been processed right out of it, so you need to change to a bread made with whole grains, or as we call them, unrefined grains. It's in our modern processing and refining methods the nutrients are removed from food.

Foods That Promote Digestive Health

Too many of us live on an inferior, low quality diet that is much too high in processed junk instead of eating good foods that promote digestive health. At some point, usually after experiencing one or several digestive symptoms or disorders, something will need to be done if getting back to good digestive health is of any concern to you. Usually diet is the problem that got you there and will be the thing that can help get you back on track.

Yogurt Digestive Health Benefits

The kiwifruit is a super prebiotic food
About 100 years ago, a Russian biologist named IIya Mechnikov linked yogurt to digestive health when he noticed that Bulgarian farmers and peasants were living longer and getting fewer diseases than those living in the cities.

What he discovered was they ate fermented yogurt, which he later studied further to prove the bacteria species he isolated, Lactobacillus bulgaricus, had amazing disease-fighting health benefits. These were big and important discoveries for the time, which won him the Nobel prize.

Slim Down Naturally

Cheap Carbohydrates - A Real Enemy

In the 1970's America saw the fast rise of industrialized farming techniques which made grains a very cheap commodity. It used to be said that "bread is the staff of life", not anymore. When these cheap unrefined grains are eaten far too much as they are in America and now other parts of the world, they can actually shorten our lifespan.

According to the book "The Anti-Aging Zone" by Barry Sears Ph.D., these cheap refined carbs we eat so many of are high glycemic-load carbohydrates which cause the body to produce to much insulin. These high levels of insulin speed up the aging process and increase the potential of the body's ability to make even more unhealthy toxic fat.

Many people now don't need to eat at home most of the time because of the availability of fast and cheap food available around the clock.

Drugs Suck!

Have you ever looked up the list of side effects on a certain medication you are taking or thinking about taking? The fact is every drug has a list of potential negative side effects, some of which are not very serious such as mild stomach discomfort or nausea to very dangerous one like heart problems and addiction.

Slimming drugs are no different and come with a long list of potentially dangerous side effects as well, one of which is getting dependent, in other words addicted to the drug you are taking in order to lose weight. But the problem with this is two-fold; you are in danger of getting addicted to the drug you are taking to shed some pounds, so by stopping to take it over prolonged periods of time, which is what the manufacturers recommend, will stop the weight losing efforts so it won't help you to achieve that goal.

Popular Natural Supplements

The above video gives information on the popular all-natural supplement Meratol. This works by literally collecting much of the carbohydrates (fat) that you eat and getting them out of your body before they can be digested by your system.

Another popular one is called Capsiplex, which is a fat burner, meaning it has natural ingredients to make your body burn calories much quicker than it normally would without taking this supplement.

Unlike drugs, the examples above are made with only a few ingredients which are all natural and safe, therefor these products do not have any known side effects.

What About These Natural Ingredients?

Some of the common ingredients used by some of these natural products are:

Capsicum - this is extracted from red hot peppers. Capsicum has been used in these types of products for many years now because it effectively raises the body's metabolism.

Caffeine - yes, common caffeine is another commonly used product that also helps raise the body temperature and metabolic rate, making it burn more calories which is what slimming products are mostly all about.

Although some people may get the jitters by consuming a lot of coffee, many of these supplements don't have that much caffeine in them to do that but there is a chance some people might experience this. Still, lack of sleep or jitters is not a dangerous side effects such as heart problems such as stroke or even more serious comes such as death, which are included is some of the more dangerous pharmaceutical ones available.
